Lil Nyet


1.1 Overview

Li'l Nyet is a webcomic about the collision of human ideals and human nature.


1.2 Setting

Li'l Nyet is set in the former Soviet Union but not marked in time. Lenin, Stalin and Krushev co-exist. Frequent action scenes are the offices of the mammoth security bureaucracy Nyet commands, street scenes and peasant huts.


1.3 Characters

Li'l Nyet, the title character, is a red demon with horns, sometimes equipped with a pitchfork. Otherwise, she might resemble a cat that has been transformed. It is possible she is on a mission or assignment; there are hints tht she is not the devil and might once have been feline. Her temper is born of frustration.

Comrade Apparatchik, or Comrade A, is a bear, and serves as Nyet's deputy.

The Ghost of Anastasia's Cat is a recurring character. A standard ghost in feline form, she draws pleasure from upsetting Nyet's plans. Her favorite prank is to create disorder is Nyet and Comrade A's precious filing system.

Li'l Nyet is created by a married couple from New York who sign their work "Bengo & Pug."

Bengo is author of "Sea Monkeys and Other Disappointments" and "The Myth of Attic Treasure."

In the Bengo & Pug collaboration, Bengo primarily handles writing and story boards, and Pug primarily handles finished art and editing. Bengo also manages the affiliated web sites.


2.3 Comic production schedule

Li'l Nyet is a three-panel color comic appearing five times a week, Monday - Friday.
