Recolor

A recolor is a sprite which is obtained from a videogame sprite by changing the coloring pattern without any other major edits; it can also refer to the process of changing the sprite's color pattern. Typical examples of a recolor are Bob (a Protoman recolor) and George (a Megaman recolor) from the comic Bob and George, and the various copies of Iris in Reploid Hunter Iris.
Many veteran spriters now consider it poor technique to simply use a recolored sprite without trying other edits. First, such a sprite is considered to be lazy (and will discourage new readers). Moreover, often times recolored sprites are often used as Author characters. {stub}
